Alan Andersen Academy for the Fine Arts is dedicated to making the high school experience memorable and educational. The school is dedicated to nurturing the talent of each and every student that is in attendance in order to create strong and creative professionals in their chosen field of study. We are determined to do the best that we can to provide each individual with the attention that they need in order to succeed.

Each student will take four block classes every semester, and eight per year - block classes will change from first semester to second semester.

Also keep in mind that their classes should be varied. IE - Don't choose three science classes and one math class. The only exception to this would be if they were somehow credit deficient. If your character is credit deficient please make a note of this in the schedule portion of your application!

They will learn how to use their body as both an innovative and communicative instrument by dancing solo and/or with a partner. With personal creativity and highly-trained educators, they will be prepared for exciting careers in the field of dance.

The students involved in the Music department will receive outstanding training from professionals who are dedicated to providing the students with motivation and the opportunity to nurture their artistic potential. The program offers courses in music theory and composition, as well as learning about different cultures through other forms of music in different countries. They will learn how to perform in an ensemble with their vocal and instrumental talents, as well as by themselves.

Alan Andersen has a highly-regarded theater program and the department prides itself in being able to produce actors and actresses that are ready for the stage. Students will take classes in movement, voice and speech, and proper technique to learn how to free themselves from their own fear and self-consciousness. The educators will nurture their talent to promote a cultural diversity of expression, viewpoint, and experience.

The summer courses at Alan Andersen are meant to be educational, but will also allow the students to have free time as they would if they were enrolled within a normal high school.

Each student will take two block classes during the summer as well as two classes pertaining to their area of study.
